Our Badge Link Policy
AllPhotoBooths badges link to operator profiles using dofollow (follow) links. This page explains our approach and why we believe it complies with Google's guidance on widget-link-scheme practices.
Why dofollow links?
Badges are earned, not paid. AllPhotoBooths badges are awarded based on data-driven quality signals, not subscription tier or affiliate relationships. Each badge links to one operator’s own profile, and the anchor text is brand-neutral (never keyword-stuffed like "Best Photo Booth in Denver").
These factors distinguish our badges from paid widget-link schemes that Google warns against. Because the links are:
- Earned: Not sold or paid for by operators
- Data-driven: Based on profile completeness, verification status, tenure, and booth-type variety
- Brand-anchored: Using neutral text like "Featured on AllPhotoBooths.com," not keyword-optimized anchors
- Direct: One link per operator to their own profile, not injected or hidden
We believe dofollow links are justified for content that meets these criteria.
Our badge link design
Every AllPhotoBooths badge follows this pattern:
Link URL:
allphotobooths.com/{operator-slug}
Link anchor text:
"Featured on AllPhotoBooths.com" or "Verified Operator" (status-aware, never keyword-stuffed)
Link rel:
follow (default, no rel="nofollow" or rel="sponsored")
Link context:
Single link per operator, earned by meeting real quality criteria (enrichment, verification, tenure, booth-type variety)
Compliance with Google guidance
Reference: Google's Qualify Outbound Links guidance
AllPhotoBooths badges are not:
- Keyword-stuffed affiliate links
- Injected via JavaScript or hidden behind dynamic rendering
- Sold to operators or paid for with ads
- Part of a widget-link-scheme designed to pass link equity
They are published directory badges awarded to operators who meet transparent, data-driven criteria. If Google determines in the future that our badge links require nofollow or sponsored tagging, we will update this policy and retroactively apply tags to all badges.
We prioritize truth and compliance over backlink SEO value.
Transparency Commitment
This policy is subject to Google's evolving guidance. We will monitor Google's official documentation and adjust our approach if best practices change. Any updates to this policy will be communicated to operators via email and reflected in updated badge code.
